Unfortunately, the early predictions and hopes for the COVID-19 pandemic to be under control for the planned May start to the 2020 AOTMX-Honda Extreme Season are not going to come true. In an effort to ensure everyone’s safety as well as follow the directive from the Minister of Health we have cancelled all May races.
The Executive is currently discussing strategies and revised schedules for when we are able to get out racing. Until there is indication as to when the gathering restrictions are going to be eased our Race Series will continue to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. When the gathering restrictions are eased, the plan is to start an altered Race Series that allows us to still utilize our AOTMX tracks – Antler Lake & Westlock during the Series.
Once the snow melts and the tracks begin to be “rideable” the opening of the Practice Tracks will be assessed closer to that time frame and will be contingent based on COVID-19 restrictions.
We will give everyone ample notice prior to practice tracks opening and the start of the season once we have all the pieces in place.
The “Westlock MX Track Rebuild” that is planned to happen the weekend of May 16 is now placed on HOLD.
